Ever since I planned to go to Barcelona, I had been having my eyes on this hotel. First, I was it was related to my favorite hotel “The Mercer” in New York but it was not but I guess I still wanted to give it a try because I felt that I will like it.
The hotel is located in the old quarter area where most cars cannot go in. So I did have to carry my luggage a bit when I arrive in this interesting area. When I walk into this beautiful lobby with high ceiling, I was glad that I came to Barcelona without seeing the town yet.
The staff were very friendly and offered me drinks because the room was not ready yet. They made sure I had my day plan and dinner plan booked.
The neighborhood quarter area is full of historical places. The cobblestone streets are very photogenic.
The Room
We chose the room with the balcony facing the inside courtyard. I liked it. It’s quite and relaxing. But I have to be honest that I was expecting more from the room. Maybe the picture looked a bit better.
There is a small pool in the rooftop and resting area. We went in the beginning of September and it was a bit cold to get in the pool.
The morning breakfast in the inner courtyard was something we were looking forward to every morning. Food was good, and it’s just relaxing. That’s why I love boutique hotels. So I don’t have to meet hundred of people in the breakfast area in the morning as I like it take it slow.
